  • A worker as killed on a Talos Energy platform while replacing piping. The employee was injured was replacing out of service fire suppression equipment and died as a result of his injuries. The company claimed to be conducting an investigation and working with regulators in its review of the accident .
  • When personnel went to check on the panel, after an alarm went off, they found the burner safety low indicator for the heater treater activated. After arriving at the treater, workers found a small fire in the BSL box of the left side fire tube.
  • While nearing the final of abandonment operations involving eight platforms and fifteen pipelines several of the platforms and existing pipelines were connected to aide in the removal of any existing oil, condensate and water in the pipelines. One of the operators reported the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide at the open top tank, a detector was used and it recorded a total of one hundred parts per million of the gas, leading to the immediate stop of all operations. A cleaning crew arrived the next morning and the tank was neutralized.
